Climate change is defined as any significant long-term change in the expected patterns of average weather of a region, and by extension, over a significant period of time. Climate change is about abnormal variations in the climate, and the effects of these variations on other parts of the Earth. As the climate warms, it changes the nature of global rainfall, evaporation, snow, stream flow and other factors that affect water supply and quality. This issue is so important because it is killing ecosystems all over the world, and affecting millions of people’s daily lives.

Greta Thunberg is a 16 year old Swedish teenage environmental activist on climate change, and has opened the next chapter in the book of life, starting the largest climate change demonstration in history. She is the leader of a youth movement that’s forcing governments and corporations to understand and realize the climate change crisis. Thunberg has been strongly determined to make a difference since she was eight years old because she realized that adults were not trying to mitigate the effects of a warming climate. She even recently spoke out at the United Nations climate conference where she berated world leaders for behaving like irresponsible children and not taking action sooner.

Thunberg is such a unique activist because she has the power and the ability to make ordinary people react, question, and act on what she is preaching. She inspires millions of people all over the world to support the protest against climate change. Thunberg has made a huge impact simply because she only relies on the science behind climate change, and she is a young activist. Many powerful adults, newscasts, and politicians have made very rude remarks towards Thunberg saying she is too young to know what she is talking about and claiming that climate change is non-existent. Although Thunberg has her facts straight, she also understands that she is young, and doesn’t know everything, which is why she gained the ability to listen and work with others.

Climate change is a very serious issue that could potentially kill all forms of mankind, destroying our beautiful planet at the same time. That is why we have Greta Thunberg. The most enthusiastic, brave, and truthful activist we have today. She has helped change the view of the media and governments all over the world, so that hopefully we can start to make a difference one day at a time. We should care about this issue because if we don’t, we will experience very dangerous and dramatic consequences.
