As fall season comes into view; we like to hunker down on our couches with a cup of apple cider, watch the leaves turn orange outside, carve a pumpkin that lights up the front porch and watch a good seasonal movie brewing on TV. As the years go by, more and more Halloween movies are released making it harder to watch all of them throughout October. How do you fit them all in? Halloween is the time of year to watch horror movie, but sometimes you just want a lighthearted, yet slightly spooky movie. I asked around the highschool to see what Halloween movies people favored most, to narrow down the list of movies to see this Halloween.

The first person I spoke to, Hannah Tonsmann said,
¨I´m not a huge horror movie fan so I like to stick to the classics. It’s so hard to pick a favorite, but I must say I am a big fan of Hocus Pocus and Halloween Town. OH and you can’t forget about It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.”

If you´re looking for some light hearted family classics, these movies are perfect. I also did a little of my own research and found Practical Magic, Monster House and The Haunted Mansion are also some family favorites.

If you’re in the mood for some spook scars, I spoke to Caroline Ketcheside, who gave some great input on all the best horror movies. She said,
¨Well you have come to the right person, I know my horror movies. For Halloween I usually gravitate towards, Halloween, The Exorcist or my favorite, Scream. Sometimes if I’m in the mood for something a little lighter I’ll watch Frankenweenie.¨

Some other good scary movies (not halloween themed) that are good to watch over the spooky season are The Conjuring, The Shining, and The Blair Witch Project. So grab your apple cider, some blankets, and put on a movie before you run out of time.
