Upcoming Seattle Concerts
In the next couple of months Seattle is welcoming many different artists and there is great excitement spreading surrounding this. Typically, February through Summer is the most popular time for artists to come perform in and around Seattle area, but this year promises to be particularly crazy and stacked when it comes to concerts.
The hip-hop/rap artists Childish Gambino and Rae Sremmurd, are performing at Key Arena on September 29, 2018, is the first concert that is creating a buzz of excitement around it. The hype around this is centered mainly around the fact that Childish Gambino hasn’t gone on tour or even performed in over a year, given there was a decent gap between his most recent album and his previous one. Some songs you should look forward to him performing if you plan on going are, “Redbone” and “Awaken My Love” off his new album, as well as some classics such as “Sweatpants” and “3005” from his album Because the Internet. Rae Sremmurd, the artist duo who is joining him on tour, is known for getting a crowd super excited and rowdy which will be a stark but good contrast to Childish Gambino, who tends to take a more chill approach to performances. Some songs from Rae Sremmurd that you should look forward to hearing are “Swang”, “Perplexing Pegasus”, “Black Beatles”, and “Look Alive,” off their albums Sremm Life and Sremm Life 2.
Another concert worth looking into is Migos and Snoop Dogg. Although they are unfortunately not coming into the city of Seattle, they will be performing somewhat nearby in Kent, Washington on April 21 . This is pretty out of the way and surprising to many concert-goers who are used to popular artists like this performing in the actual city. However, it promises to be a once in a lifetime experience you wouldn’t want to miss. Tickets are around $90 right now and Migos just recently dropped their newest album, Culture II, which will be a great experience to hear in concert for the first time.
On top of this, the lineup for Capitol Hill Block Party, which is a street music festival in the heart of Capitol Hill, just came out, which is great news to many. The lineup features popular artists Dillon Francis, Brockhampton, and Cashmere Cat. The Block Party will run July 20th through the 22nd in 2018 and the turnout this year is going to be not as big as previous years.
The 2018 Bumbershoot lineup also should be released fairly soon, around the end of April, so stay on the lookout for that as well!
